This is a ever-growing list of common game related questions and the answers to them. If you think a question/answer needs to be added here please post it here with the reason why. Likewise, if you have any questions about something listed here, this is the place to ask.
- 1. Can there be more than one account per computer?
Yes, you can have more than one account per computer as long as there is an actual person controlling each account. So feel free to play with your friends and siblings on the same computer. Just don't create multi accounts for yourself and try to use them to your advantage against other players in the game.
- 2. Why did the game I'm playing suddenly end?
Games always end the moment someone has declared Victory. As soon as this happens the game sends out a PM to every participant with details on the victory.
- 3. Why can't my General/Army capture a territory?
Generals themselves can't do anything other than move around. A single General without an army can't capture cities, attack or defend anything, or even be seen by your enemy. If your army can't capture a territory, then there is an enemy army in range of the territory. You must defeat any opposing forces in range of a territory before you can capture it.
- 4. Why can't I create a game with a round time of less than 3 minutes?
Creating games with round times of less than 3 minutes may only be chosen by someone who has a Premium Account. If you would like to upgrade your account, there is a link to the upgrade page from your 'My Profile' screen in-game.
- 5. The overview game map is to large/small for me to see it clearly.
You can adjust the map's size by going to your profile. Remember that the game is best displayed with a screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher.
- 6. I lost a battle in the game but I had more soldiers and equipment than my opponent. Is there some kind of underdog bonus?
There are no underdog or defender bonuses in the game. Battles are calculated through a series of equations and random dice rolls. The value of each player's dice is calculated between the attacking unit strength + (flanking unit strength * 25%) vs. the defending unit strength + (defensive support unit * 25%). Unit strength is calculated based on (Soldiers/100) + Tanks + Artillery. A 10% bonus is added for each of the rock-paper-scissors outcomes and finally the unit general's experience can add up to a 10% bonus to the overall unit strength. All of this is totaled up and after a series of dice rolls the winner and loser are determined for each battle. Therefore it is possible for an underdog to win a battle, but not due to any underdog bonuses calculated in the game.
- 7. Why is the manage or transfer buttons greyed out (unavailable) for my unit?
If you are trying to manage (ie. add additional equipment to a unit) that unit must be within range of a territory flag that you control. If you're trying to transfer units, first make sure that the game that you are playing allows unit transfers and second make sure that both units involved in the transfer are within range of territory flags that you control.
- 8. Why can't I start with Hawaii or Alaska on the USA map?
There are a few regions on some of the maps that are either too small or too far away from other regions to be viable starting locations. You can capture these regions but you will be unable to select them as starting locations.
- 9. Why can't I see the map?
Some browsers, like Opera, don't support Google Maps. Most computers come with Internet Explorer, or Firefox, so if you have one of them, try that, otherwise, you can download it for free.
- 10. Why do I keep getting an error saying I don't have enough cash, when it says I do?
Some games have a loot function turned on. If you were at the unit purchase screen when somebody captured one of your regions you may have lost money. If this happens try refreshing your screen to get your new money total.
- 11. How do I start the game?
The person that created the game is the only one that can launch it. If he is taking too long try joining another game but make sure you leave from the one you don't want to play in. Otherwise you can still lose.
- 12. How do flanking and supporting units work?
If you attack an army and there is another defensive army in the range of the one you are attacking then it offers defensive support. This also applies attacking flank units in that if another unit other than the one a player is attacking with is in range of an attacking unit then it will perform an attacking flank maneuver. These support and flank units do not have to be within range of an opponent, they only need to be in range of the unit that they are supporting or flanking. Only 1 unit may offer defensive support or attacking flank and the game will pick the strongest unit out of a group if there are more than one defensive support or attacking flank units nearby.
