 we need to start getting this game revived D: , its alot more fun when there a huge community and greater competition :/

any suggestions and actions we can take?

maybe having the mod team expanded or revived to try and boost the game's popularity?

 I'm not really sure what action could be taken. The problem is, as you point out, that there are not many people active anymore (often only one). Unfortunately, we're sort of stuck in a "Catch-22" whereby we can only attract new players (or old ones back) by having a vibrant community, which we can't get until we attract new players (or old ones back).

One way out would be through advertising, but since the game was never really profitable in its heyday, I don't think there is a return on investment for admin, so that option is out.

 The Admins most successful game Cybernations has many active players , maybe using the mass message system , offering to try this game out and sign up now , get a free 3 day premium subscription offer could be done to attract new players. We could also merge the ToG forums onto the Cybernations forums since this forum isnt as active. Doing this would make the forums more active , and people might look into the ToG section too see what the "new" spot on the forums are , would make it alot easier to moniter too , becuase the admin can only devote so much time per forum , and having a smaller section but for a major forum for one of his other games he can quickly look to see in it if there any problems / bugs or issues.

So if we get about 20-50 new members in one day , we can hold a day devoted to boosting activity by playing diffrent types of games due to the 3 day subs. If thouse 20 people play a couple games on this day , maybe some of the newcomer might come back after having there first game experience.

E-mail messages might also bring back some of the more seasoned veterans back to the game.

If the "boost" day is succesfull we could offer an event where "recruit your freind to join" get another day of sub and offer higher prizes the more people they get to join

ie. 1 player = 1 day
~~~
5 players = 10 days
10 players = 45 days etc.

since it wont cost money to give newbies a short premium account to try the game the admin wont loose money , and once there premium is up , they might be tempted to buy another

Discounts might also boost the # of premium account being bought

so all of these combined might create a larger community ... what do you think ? possible? or improbable? :)

 Perhaps some of them could - but they all require that admin take some action. I'm not sure how often he checks here (since he hasn't posted in a while) to see what's been posted and how much he cares to put additional effort into this game that has never been profitable (sometime a few months in he said it wasn't worth running on its own server and so he was going to put it on a shared one to try to save on costs).
