So far i like the bonus cards :D they come in handy for diffrent things, and diffrent situations :) its like an investment, it dosnt do much good if its gonna be a fast game but when it is a game with a longer map and a long time before it ends its a good investment to put a couple 100 $$ into cards when they could help you later on

You must have bought cards early on in our recent "Asian Crisis" game because you had some enormous armies. You were wondering why I didn't attack you? It was because I had defeated general units near your territories and could see your massive armies at my every front. I had to save turns up just to blitz past them.

oh lol didnt think you had armies that far in my territories, i had 3 thinking that you a beijert were battling to death so i thought your armies were all battled down and weaker then normals so i tried to keep 3 stong armies along the boarders 1 in china 1 in Pakistan and 1 in japan/tiwan , but i use the bonus cards in generaly all my games

Interesting turnabout Sandboxbob; just a week ago (see Post 19), you were meh on the bonus cards, calling them a gamble, and now you use them all the times they are offered.

In most games I will get +10% and +5% movement early on (just getting an extra territory by use of either means that you'll have the card repaid in 2 or 3 turns from that region alone).
As soon as it can save me 10% off attrition (when I own about 11 regions), I get the -1 Attrition card - this is unless I am far away from other players and might not need those $100 to accomplish something, in which case I get it earlier on, even if it only reduces my attrition by 3 or 4 percent.

they are a gamble, i calledthem a good investment for long games, the gamble is spenidng large amounts of money on cards rather then large armies to defend or attack , usually in short games if someone was to spend money on all the cards they would face a hard time being forced into early combat, so they are a gamble/investment , like the stock market

I get the Bonus cards on all of the games with big maps/wealthy regions and team games. Questions: when you buy bonus cards in a teams game, do they effect the whole team or just you?

I don't think they affect the whole team (even with team reinforce on) - in fact they better not: if all players bought -10% on XXX and together acquired enough regions to get -50% on XXX, you could be buying XXX for very little.

In fact, in the extreme, let's say the whole team manages to get to -30% on soldiers, then all buy both -10% soldiers and -5% soldiers. If there are 5 team members, you now have a 105% discount on soldiers - the game PAYS YOU $.05 each to buy them!

Bonus cards only affect the individual player, even in team games.
