plus losing your last territory automaticaly deafeats you, so running away as far as possible will waste turns you have a better chance of just moveing him to a safe spot not to far away and battleing it out
Er... that's what I was referring to. Moving him to a safe spot, i.e. away from the map, with spare turns. I never said use ALL your turns to get him away, just whenever you have turns left. But if everyone does that, it sort of defeats the purpose of having a leader, UNLESS that leader has some sort of battle bonus hax that gives increased odds against non-leaders.

I thought we assumed a battle bonus. I would think somewhere around 25% more damage would be a good number.

well that can work but i still dont think people would want to put there leader on the front line. they just might keep him near a region and not way off the map, but a battle bonus could be a good idea if defending

I'm sure it would not be too hard to code in a special army being able to be killed altogether in normal combat, including the deletion of the army. Besides, you wouldn't need to worry about that anyway since once your leader dies you are out of the game anyway.
Besides how this idea would affect the Leader mode, I would to see it become a gameplay option for all games. I mean, it would be very helpful to completely destroy your opponent's army, instead of leaving a spy so they can see your every move.

Oddly enough, I posted a new topic mentioning Team Capitals and Team King of the Hill just before reading this topic. Just forget that post, my basic idea is to be able to combine any two Game Modes (as of right now, that would mean Team Capitals, Team King of the Hill, and King of the Hill Capitals would be options).

well thats the negatives for having spys, but in war spying is fair America does it all the time on neighboring countries, and countries that our considered our rivals, its a nuisance for the people being spied on to know that their being watched , but can also help some people out by knowing where their weak spots are to attack. If you really want to prevent the chance of being spied on i would say just lower the units allowed per game. If there are around 5 units allowed people will have more armies used for defending and maybe 1 or 2 for attacking not leaving alot of room for you to be spied on.as for king of the hill capitals. That sounds like a very hard game style to be constantly trying trying to capture the hill and go after the capitals while protecting your own :P

Nevertheless King of the Hill Capitals would be interesting, to say the least. And I can't imagine it would be all that difficult or time consuming to program (although I don't know how to program, so I could be wrong).

King of the Hill Capitals would be an amazing addiction to ToG even though i'm rubbish at King of the Hill, still dont have the achievement for it. This would be a worth while addition to the game offering more and more diversity
