Italiandude was only working for about 18 months (Jan 09 - Jun 10) and that includes 3 months that the game was offline (Aug 09 - Oct 09). In about 15 months he thus made it to approximately 100,000 points, suggesting that 500,000 could be reached in 75 months, or 6.25 years. Whether or not anyone wants to devote that much time to the game doesn't concern me, nor does whether I ever see a player with 5 full stars (or even 4 for that matter). It's just an arbitrary series of cutoffs that allow quick evaluation of a player's skill without having to directly compare the actual numbers - and it does just fine at that. 0 = newbie, 0.5 = 1000-4999 points, someone with a bit of experience, 1, 1.5 are more experienced players, and 2+ are the best and most consistent players. Further subdivisions at this end seem unnecessary (would being able to see that someone was a 1000-2499 or 2500-4999 really provide much extra insight into their competency as a player?), so no squishing of the range of scores needed to achieve star rankings does not seem warranted at this time. |

well its to make the ranks easier to get ratehr then 500k points but 100k is still extreemly hard since i havent seen anyone obtain it yet. if it was lowered to 100k, there still might never be a person to ever reach it. but the point is people might want it lowered so that some of the people can at least see there rank improve. 100k is still a very very large amount to get. the amount of time and games a person plays should be reflected on a person by their stars. ive seen people with 1.5 starts and there extreemly experianced. problem is the numbers are higher to get so in order to build up to that 500k points it needs to be in pyramid order 0-5k(5k more) 5-20k(15k more) 20-50k (30k more) 50-100k(50k more) 200k-200k(100kmore) 200k-500k(300kmore) its a pyramid which is good becasue it gets harder and harder to reach the rank, but you dont wanna have something thats so difficult to get it takes 6.25 years of a person life to get. instead it should still be dificult just with in range of reason. example. 0-1k=.5 1-5k= .5 5-10k =.5 10-20k=.5 20k-35k = .5 35-55k=.5 55k-70k =.5 70k-100k = .5 100k-135k=.5 135k-175k or200k = .5 see how it is still a challange and yet take a very long time to get ? but yet its in range of reason and not like a 300k jump for just .5 of a star |
