Regarding unit transfers

For unit transfers, do they also work if the unit(s) are near an ally's territory, or does it (do they) have to be near your own territory for the transfer to be successful?

It depends on the settings of the game, if Team Reinforce is On, then you may transfer to your unit while being within range the ally's territory. If Team reinforce is off, you may not.
