this could work especially for a place like LA or PHX where there are LOTS of suburbs. for PHX i could name at least 10 and looking at a map more. or at least in the US, zip code regions would work, though that would be more difficult to find.

Being originally from New York (not the city, but yes a suburb thereof, I'd like to see an NYC map.

Here is a map of the 59 community boards of the 5 boroughs of the city. They are numbered by borough and a description of the neighborhoods within (which would be used to name them instead of these numbers) is found on this Wikipedia page.

The teal-green colors are city parkland (& the JFK and LaGuardia airports) which are not included in any community board. Since admin does not want maps with more than 60 regions, I suggest these be merged into the nearby community boards except for Central Park (the teal-green with "Manhattan" written in it for those not familiar with the city's geography), which could be region #60.

Well I go to school in Manhattan and live in the suburbs and I don't really like the idea of an NYC map. What I mean is: good maps should all have the ability to accomodate 10 players, and I just don't see the NYC map doing that, because it's just so crowded. The map Niels posted is a bit unrealistic.

But I guess yea, other cities could work, but just some, not all.

well of course not all cities would work, that's a given. just the big major ones. like new york. LA, paris, london, moscow. and some others

Correct me if I`m wrong here, but basically, you`re asking for maps of more specific places, correct? If that is the case, I really can't see too many of them coming out, as in my eyes, it makes more sense to focus on the countries and areas that aren't covered yet, even states, instead of towns and cities.

Should a few of such cities come out, I can only imagine the mass of suggestions that will come from it. There are many cities available that would make great maps, but the technology used for the Overall maps (not tactical) has its limitations, and greatly limits the availability of the maps.

Interesting, I figured that the overall maps were just something that were produced of a number of elements that could change color according to the events of the game, but which didn't necessarily need to reflect the exact geography of the game. After all, Russia is curved in the overall map, but displayed in Google's modified mercator projection on the tactical.

I suppose the real question that ought to come before any further discussion, is: does Admin plan on making new maps, or accepting suggestions for new maps, before Version 2 is released, OR should we keep our suggestions to ourselves for a couple of months?
