I think a cool idea would be to implement cities into the game. it would be really simple just like countries except it would be cities lol. now that i'm typing this i realize that this idea has probably been brought up a thousand times, so i apologize if so. |

Perhaps you could fill out the details of your concept more. It just sounds like you want to rename the regions: Massachusetts --> Boston United Kingdom --> London Amazonas --> Manaus etc. I don't see a point to doing so unless I am missing something. Plus, the overall map fills in regions such as states and countries when they are owned by a player, so making the flags represent cities (which are essentially dots) would make no sense. |

It sounds like he would want cities to be independent regions by themselves, being completely inside the territorial/state/country region. If so I do like this idea, if a few cities could be strategic powerhouses much like the single region in KOTH. Maybe not as powerful but more so than the average region anyway. |

Maybe it would make more sense on smaller maps like Wyoming or even an Illinois map...but as it is, doesn't make much sense. |

I have to say, I don't like this idea, the regions are fine as they are. They don't need to be changed. |

The maps are more or less balanced as they are and making changes would be disruptive and time-consuming. Take the US map for example ... Add Atlanta as a city ... now you need to reduce the value of Georgia or move its flag south, but that would alter the distance to the nearest flag from Florida, so it may need to be lowered in value. Add San Francisco and suddenly California isn't so far from another region to capture and would need to be downvalued. Furthermore, it would be very difficult to see who owns these cities owing to their small size with respect to most states/regions/countries (depending on the map), and a cursory glance at a game in progress might mean that someone misses an approaching enemy unless they specifically check the action log or tactical map. |

I think his idea is to make maps based around cities. E.g. New York City would have like maybe territories each borough, county, etc. Which I don't think is needed; it would make planning the maps too hard because of such a small area to work with.

Well if this is the case, it is important to remember that we have the Hong Kong map that works reasonably well. If admin were to make new maps, a NYC one might be something to include ... "TCTriangle Blue Army 2 has captured Harlem" "Sherman Red Army 3 has captured The Lower East Side" "Icadil Green Army 1 has captured Central Park West" |

Well I guess it was because the map of Hong Kong worked well, because it had both the main island, Kowloon, and the numerous other islands all around. I don't know if it will work as well for New York and other cities. For now, I'm content with just nations, continents, and states. |

Sorry for the lack of clarity. What I mean is cities as maps themselves like Hong Kong. I mean first of all where in war are most of the battles fought? Cities. If you zoom in on google maps to a major city it is very clear and gives you a lot of room to work with. I think it would be fit all the game types rather well. as for different "regions" in the city maps well cities are divided in to districts. just ask if you have anymore questions |
