(Number of regions you control - 1) * game attrition rate = your attrition percentage

Total income from all regions you own * (100% - you attrition percentage) = income you collect

Attrition cannot go beyond 80% no matter how many regions you control.
Attrition rate can be set between 0% and 5%.

Attached is a graph of the 6 possible attrition rates you may set. It comes with some caveats:

This graph was made with the assumption that all the regions you possess are of the same value, which is not likely the case (though on certain maps, such as Wyoming, or parts of maps, such as the US midwest or World/New World's Africa and Europe, you may be able to achieve this ideal). The more regions of different values and the more distant the outliers are (such as a US midwest empire of regions of $200 + D.C. with value of $10 is more deviant from the graphs than the midwest + Virginia with it's value of $150).

The vertical column is the money you recieve, as a multiple scalar. If your regions are all valued at $200, and the graph says you will get 2.5, it means your income is $200 x 2.5 = $500.

The horizontal scale is the number of regions you control.

Attrition rates of 2%-5% eventually all overlap on this graph as they reach the maximum of 80% attrition. (1% would eventually do the same, but no map has enough regions for that to be the case).

0% attrition follows a linear path, you get the sum of the values of all your regions.

1% achieves a maximum at 50/51 regions, where you will get 25.5 times the value of the average.

2% achieves a maximum at 25/26 regions, where you will get 13 times the value of the maximum, and has a minimum at 41 regions where you will get 8.2 times the value of the average.

3% achieves a maximum at 17 regions, where you will get 8.84 times the value of the average, and has a minimum at 28 regions where you will get 5.6 times the value of the average.

4% achieves a maximum at 13 regions, where you will get 6.76 times the value of the average, and has a minimum at 21 regions, where you get 4.2 times the value of the average.

5% achieves a maximum at 10/11 regions, where you will get 5.5 times the value of the average, and has a minimum at 17 regions, where you will get 3.4 times the value of the average.

* Remember, this is based on all regions being of equal value, slight differences will occur if this is not the case.
* Remember as well that cost reductions based on region control are cumulative, so taking a region like D.C. on the US Map (All -8%) makes up for the increased attrition regardless of amount (since even 5% attrition with 8% cost reductions gives more net purchasing power to the player). [Cost reductions can only go to -50% on each type of unit].
