Win fight but lose all forces?

Hey folks, I was wondering how exactly the ratio worked in terms of forces dying.

For example: Turetel Yellow Army 1 has attacked Vespassianus Red Army 2. The attacker won the battle in a 5 to 2 victory.

But all of my forces died after the battle so it was more like I lost (or that is how I think it should read)?

Thanks for any help on shedding light on the matter,
Turetel

This means that you won the battle in terms of battle odds and enemies killed but your unit was so depleted afterwards that you were only left with your general however your general did record the victory and you gained the points from winning the battle.
