My name is Kevin and I am the creator and developer of Tour of Generals. I am also the admin behind Cyber Nations and Cyber Nations Tournament Edition as well as the original creator of Trukz. I registered the Tour of Generals domain name in June of 2007 because I liked the name but I really didn't know what I was going to do with it at the time. I tossed around a lot of concepts but nothing really seemed to stick until September 2008 when I had the idea to make a map-based tactical war strategy game. The basic concept of the game is similar to the board game Risk in that it involves moving units around on a map, fighting opponents, and capturing territories. But that's about as far as the similarities with Risk and Tour of Generals go. Unlike Risk, Tour of Generals has a tactical map provided by Google Maps which allows players to control the exact unit movements and positions in the game which makes for some very interesting strategic gameplay. The game uses real world maps and gameplay is kept simple with units consisting of just soldiers, tanks, and artillery. Originally in September 2008 the ability for players to be involved in multiple games at the same time was not going to be an option but as I began testing the game I found myself wanting more so the option to actively play multiple games at once was added. Now Tour of Generals allows players to host or join multiple games on multiple real world maps with a wide variety of game options including Capital, Team, and King of The Hill games as well as options on how fast or slow the games will be played out. The idea is to put into the players hands how they want to play the game whether it be a quick game that is completed in a single session or a campaign that takes weeks to decide a victor. That pretty much covers the basic summary of things. I hope that you enjoy Tour of Generals. |

Keep up the good work, Kevin. Once you get the team/clan battle system worked out I have a feeling things will get a lot more interesting around here. :) |

Agreed, can't wait for clans to become more important. Nice little game though to curb my boredom when I'm not playing CN. :) |

Everything above and a good way to settle wars on CN. ;) One question though: what was ToG before you got it? |
